Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Scotty Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ashton Ladd!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ladd misses with a looping left.
Murphy half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ladd bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Ladd sizes up Murphy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Murphy on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ladd lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Murphy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ladd as he jumps to the side.
Murphy closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short body shot lands from Ladd as the two fighters clinch.
Murphy tries a body shot but Ladd blocks it.
Ladd lands a left hand that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.
Ladd scores with a shoulder strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ladd throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Murphys head.
Ladd stalling the fight.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ladd creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ladd lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Murphy backwards.
Murphy is rocked!
Ladd digs a right hand underneath Murphy's ribcage. Murphy let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Oh Murphy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murphy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ladd walks away with a smile on his face. Murphy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Murphy seems to have got his legs back now.
Murphy takes one to the chin there.
Ladd walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Murphy drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ladd swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Murphy's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ashton Ladd!
