Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Trace (ranked 2643 p4p, 3765 weight class) and Rodrigo Ferriera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Rodrigo Ferriera enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hunter Trace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodrigo Ferriera! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferriera swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ferriera swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Trace feinted with a counter takedown. Ferriera closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ferriera manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Trace blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Trace has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ferriera is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ferriera swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ferriera misses with the head strike.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rodrigo Ferriera. Ferriera swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Trace ducks under a wild hook from Ferriera. Ferriera clinches up with Trace and pushes him back against the cage. Trace has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ferriera avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hunter Trace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ferriera misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ferriera's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Ferriera goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ferriera. Ferriera can't find room to land a body shot as Trace controls the action.
Ferriera is pressed up against the cage. Trace has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ferriera down to the mat. Ferriera avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rodrigo Ferriera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ferriera misses with an uppercut. Trace saw that one coming. Trace half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Trace closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Trace lands in his opponent's guard. Trace is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Trace seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ferriera for as long as he can get away with. Ferriera trying to keep a closed guard but Trace is proving a slippery customer.

"Ole!" shouts Ferriera as he jumps to the side. Ferriera is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Ferriera missing with a left hand there. Trace was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Trace drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ferriera gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Rodrigo Ferriera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Trace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round! Ferriera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hunter Trace is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ferriera throws a lazy right hand but Trace sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ferriera gets a clinch. Trace wants a takedown but no success here.
Trace is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ferriera gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hunter Trace. Rodrigo Ferriera is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rodrigo Ferriera. Ferriera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferriera wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trace walks into a stiff left hand from Ferriera. A jab from Ferriera misses. Trace changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Trace displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ferriera throws out the jab. Trace slips a straight right by Ferriera. Ferriera throws a hook but Trace avoids it easily. Trace's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ferriera connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Trace scrambles back to his feet. Trace displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ferriera throws out the jab. Trace drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ferriera sprawls and moves away. Horrible takedown attempt by Trace or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferriera, which made it look bad. Ferriera fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Trace, pushing him back against the cage. Trace tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ferriera gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Trace.
Ferriera taking a breather. Hunter Trace has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Trace gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Rodrigo Ferriera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ferriera winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
