The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hematopoye throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mercer.
Mercer leaves Hematopoye with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hematopoye unleashes a big counter combination but Mercer bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Mercer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A little jabbing left from Hematopoye on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Mercer lands a big head kick that sends Hematopoye tumbling to the mat! Mercer takes a step backwards and waves Hematopoye back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mercer throws out a leg kick but Hematopoye moves out of range and Mercer only half commits.
Nice straight punches there by Mercer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mercer.
Mercer connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Hematopoye tumbling to the canvas! Mercer pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Hematopoye was done - good stoppage!

Bobby Mercer really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Bondi MMA 🏝️ logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
