The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vogel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McConnell backs up against the cage.
McConnell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Vogel throws a body punch but McConnell moves out of range.
McConnell slips under a jab.
McConnell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vogel.

McConnell clinches with his opponent.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by McConnell as Vogel tries to tie him up.
Vogel wants to break free but McConnell has control.

McConnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
McConnell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vogel manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It seemed like Vogel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McConnell is looking to clinch.
Vogel swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Vogel misses with a straight right.
Good shot there by Vogel.
McConnell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vogel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vogel keeps the fight on the outside.
McConnell avoids the body shot from Vogel.
McConnell throws a hook but Vogel blocks it.
McConnell takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

McConnell drives through and clinches with Vogel against the cage.

The two fighters are battling for control here. Vogel trying to break out of McConnell's Thai clinch. McConnell unloads with a massive knee right up the middle that drops Vogel to the canvas! He's out cold! Wow, what a knee by McConnell!
