PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Vinogradov (ranked 411 p4p, 483 weight class) and Jorlan Vieira (ranked 26 p4p, 27 weight class). Jorlan Vieira told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Vinogradov there.
Vinogradov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vinogradov throws a big shot that misses.
Vieira let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Vinogradov throws out a loose jab but Vieira uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vinogradov cracks Vieira with an open hand slap.

Vinogradov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vinogradov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vieira doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vinogradov.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vinogradov rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Vieira to counter with a crisp jab.
Vieira is looking to slow Vinogradov down with leg kicks.

Vinogradov looks to land a left hand but Vieira moved out of range nicely.

Vieira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vinogradov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Vieira is looking to stand back up but Vinogradov counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Vieira.

The fighters are battling for position here. Vieira manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vinogradov trying to control the position from guard on top but Vieira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vinogradov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vieira is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Vinogradov has gone for a leg lock! Vieira slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vinogradov's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vieira accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vinogradov is looking to cinch up a triangle. Vieira throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Vinogradov's body to avoid the submission. Vinogradov has instead reached around Vieira's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Vinogradov arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
