Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Bellard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Drawers! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bellard is defended easily by Drawers. Bellard fails with a takedown attempt. Drawers lands a slapping body shot.
Drawers stuffs the takedown attempt from Bellard. Bellard gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mitch Bellard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Drawers throws a right and a left that Bellard avoids nicely. Drawers scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Mitch Bellard has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drawers stuffs the takedown. Drawers looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bellard! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bellard struggling a bit here. Drawers tries for a kimura but Bellard is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drawers tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Drawers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bellard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drawers is working to tighten his grip on Bellard's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bellard has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Drawers is really squeezing tight and eventually Bellard passes out! Drawers breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Chester Drawers! A relieved looking Chester Drawers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
