Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Kurikka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Kurikka has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Kurikka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Azevedo! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurikka misses with a wild combination.
Kurikka tries to close the distance and clinch but Azevedo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Azevedo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kurikka throws a right hand that Azevedo ducks under and follows up with a left that Azevedo also avoids with ease. Kurikka gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Azevedo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Azevedo tries to free his leg and advance position but Kurikka is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Azevedo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kurikka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kurikka defending against the ground and pound. Kurikka knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azevedo on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kurikka parries the strikes from Azevedo easily there. Azevedo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kurikka to escape.
Azevedo is looking to take a break and control but Kurikka is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Kurikka is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Azevedo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Azevedo is trying to get an arm triangle but Kurikka is defending well. Kurikka on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kurikka tries to get out of the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kurikka is trying to buck Azevedo off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugo Azevedo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kurikka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kurikka tries to clinch up. Kurikka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kurikka misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Kurikka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kurikka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Azevedo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurikka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Azevedo lands with a straight right. Kurikka didn't see that one coming. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A slapping leg kick lands for Azevedo.
Azevedo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Nice uppercut lands for Azevedo. That snapped Kurikka's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kurikka's calf. Azevedo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. John Kurikka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Azevedo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Azevedo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kurikka is rocked! Azevedo in side control, just content to control the action for now. Azevedo has hold of Kurikka's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kurikka seems comfortable defending it but Azevedo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kurikka is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kurikka is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Azevedo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hugo Azevedo!
