Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Weichanthal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Jackson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weichanthal tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jackson works Weichanthal's body with a nice hook. Weichanthal wants to clinch. Weichanthal fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Weichanthal lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Weichanthal tries to clinch but Jackson moves out of range. Weichanthal ducks under a wild hook from Jackson. Weichanthal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jackson throws an overhand right that lands on Weichanthal's shoulder, as Weichanthal tries to avoid the shot. Jackson misses with a body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson keeps the fight on the outside. A shot to de liver by Jackson. Beautiful body shot. Jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Weichanthal keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jackson. Jackson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Weichanthal is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Weichanthal tries to clinch up. Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ben Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Weichanthal takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like John Weichanthal has been cut. Jackson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Weichanthal's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jackson thows a body shot but no joy. Jackson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Weichanthal's head backwards. Jackson thows a left - swing and a miss! Weichanthal tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it. Jackson throws a hook but Weichanthal blocks it. Jackson waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Weichanthal. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Weichanthal to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Weichanthal is rocked! Weichanthal is looking to stand up but Jackson isn't so interested in that idea. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weichanthal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Weichanthal is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Weichanthal trying to control the position but instead, Jackson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Weichanthal into the ropes. Weichanthal tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Weichanthal throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jackson blocks it with crossed arms. Jackson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Weichanthal with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Jackson misses with a leg kick and Weichanthal counters with a flying knee. Nice. Jackson misses the jab. Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Weichanthal. Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Weichanthal. Nice defenses there by Weichanthal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on John Weichanthal's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Jackson punishes Weichanthal's body with a nice straight punch. Weichanthal is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Weichanthal. Jackson throws a hook but Weichanthal avoids it easily. Ben Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Donk. Jackson catches Weichanthal right on the button with a cross. Jackson with a nice cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson throws the left hand but Weichanthal avoids the punch easily. Weichanthal swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jackson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Weichanthal takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Oh Weichanthal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
John Weichanthal's cut is getting worse. Weichanthal slips under a jab. Weichanthal seems to have got his legs back now. Weichanthal closes the distance but Jackson moves to the side and Jackson counters with a left hand that sends Weichanthal to the canvas!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Weichanthal wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jackson wants to control from the top but Weichanthal keeps moving. Jackson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Weichanthal kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Jackson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Weichanthal looking for a sweep. Not yet Weichanthal, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson won't allow Weichanthal to get back to his feet. Ben Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Weichanthal is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jackson misses with a hook. John Weichanthal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jackson ducks under a wild hook from Weichanthal. Jackson with a hook. Jackson cracks a nice hook into Weichanthal's ribs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Weichanthal. Weichanthal tries to clinch but Jackson moves away and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Weichanthal tries to clinch but Jackson moves away and Jackson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jackson cracks Weichanthal with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Weichanthal looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Jackson finish him?
John Weichanthal's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jackson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Ben Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jackson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
