Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry McManus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Twister!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McManus stuffs the takedown attempt from Twister. Twister gets slowly back to his feet.

McManus gets a clinch.
McManus throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Twister blocks it with crossed arms.
Twister jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McManus walks away with a smile on his face. Twister gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Twister tries to clinch
and McManus counters with a nice leg kick.
McManus clinches but Twister breaks the clinch
and Twister counters with a three punch combo that has McManus backing up. McManus nods at Twister to acknowledge the strikes.
McManus closes the distance but Twister moves to the side

and Twister counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Twister keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
McManus is staying active underneath Twister, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
McManus is looking for a sweep. Twister is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Twister tries to stand but can't do so whilst McManus controls his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McManus looks like he's trying to stand up.
McManus wants to control but Twister is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Twister.
McManus struggling a bit here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Twister lands an elbow.

Twister decides to stand up, so the ref orders McManus to his feet.

McManus moves into range and clinches up with Twister.

Twister manages to break the clinch.
Twister has his takedown stuffed

and McManus counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McManus.
Gerry McManus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Twister.
McManus throws a knee to the head but misses.

McManus lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Twister ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Twister no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McManus stands and steps away. Twister gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

McManus darts in and clinches Twister up against the cage.
Twister drops down looking for an ankle pick but McManus pulls his leg out and moves away.

McManus throws a combination that misses

and Twister counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for McManus!
McManus wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Twister content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McManus is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McManus tries to reverse the position but Twister maintains control.
McManus avoids a series of strikes thrown by Twister.
McManus is trying to stand up.
Twister controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Twister dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McManus tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Twister counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McManus wants to get back to full guard.
McManus wants to get back to his feet.
McManus is trying to control but can't.
Twister wants to stand up but McManus is controlling the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McManus trying to hold on to Twister's head to control him but Twister postures up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Twister fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Twister gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McManus counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Twister clinches but McManus breaks the clinch

and McManus counters with a single leg into guard. Twister didn't expect that.
McManus trying to control the position from guard on top but Twister is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Twister not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

McManus stopping the sweep attempt from Twister.

McManus gets to his feet - Twister follows without any prompting.
McManus clinches but Twister breaks the clinch

and Twister moves into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McManus goes for a takedown in the clinch but Twister prevents it.

Twister breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McManus tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Twister counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
McManus is trying to maintain the position but Twister is very close to passing his half guard.
Twister is controlling the pace.
Twister wants to stand but McManus has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Twister showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


McManus stuffs the takedown.
Twister is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McManus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McManus closes the distance but Twister moves to the side
and Twister counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

McManus rushes Twister and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Twister with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Twister landing some nice looking knees to the body.
McManus scores with a shot to the side of Twister's head.
McManus gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Twister can't get the takedown.
Gerry McManus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Twister.
McManus misses with a knee to the head.
Twister takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McManus with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Twister has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McManus is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

McManus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Twister counters with a nice double leg into guard.
McManus has a closed guard, preventing Twister from standing up.
McManus wants to stand up but Twister is controlling him.

McManus managing to control the position.

Twister forces his way into half guard.

McManus is trying to get back to full guard.
McManus is trying to stand up here but Twister is controlling him well.
McManus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
McManus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Twister missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Twister controlling the pace.
Twister uses his free foot to push down on McManus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McManus.
Gerry McManus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McManus wants to try and get back to his feet.

Mark Twister comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Twister winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
