Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reggie Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davies changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Warren looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Warren sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Davies is working for a submission of some sort.

Davies is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Warren defends it well.
Warren flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Warren looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Warren is pressing down on Davies's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Warren wants to sweep but no luck.

Davies has gone for a leg lock! Warren slips out almost immediately though and dives into Davies's guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Warren lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Warren content to stall in guard here.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Warren's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Warren makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Warren is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Reggie Warren overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Davies is breathing heavily.

Warren slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Warren scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Warren stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davies swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warren is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Davies utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Warren not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Warren trying to control the position from guard on top but Davies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Reggie Warren just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Warren lands with a hook. Davies tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Davies wants to clinch.
Warren jabs at Davies's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Warren, as that shot connected.
Warren thuds a left hand into Davies's body.
Davies fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Warren fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Warren drives through with a takedown into guard.

Davies looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Warren passes into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Davies takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Davies takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Warren is working Davies over with some ground and pound from side control.

Davies is looking to regain half guard here but Warren keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Warren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reggie Warren showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Warren has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
