Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bunny Anstey (ranked 1465 p4p, 2945 weight class) and Alexev Savinov (ranked 174 p4p, 321 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bunny Anstey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexev Savinov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anstey feints and as Savinov raises his hands in defense, Anstey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Savinov wants to sweep here but Anstey controlling him for the moment.
Anstey is pushing down on Savinov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Savinov is fighting to maintain full guard but Anstey has managed to sneak the leg through.
Anstey is controlling the pace.
Anstey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Savinov wants to stand back up but Anstey manages to pass into side control.
Anstey content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Savinov tries to buck Anstey off but Anstey is having none of it.
Anstey takes a little break here. Savinov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savinov seems a little lost for a moment, as Anstey dominates the positioning.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Anstey seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Savinov for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Savinov getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Savinov's corner calls for a 1-2. Savinov obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Alexev Savinov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Anstey takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Savinov throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Anstey's head.
Savinov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Savinov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
As Savinov tries to get set, Anstey tries to push him back and clinch up but Savinov manages to avoid the attempt.

and Anstey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Anstey.

Savinov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Anstey is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Savinov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anstey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've been informed that Savinov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Savinov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anstey manages to avoid it.
Anstey drops down looking for a counter takedown but Savinov sprawls and moves away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Savinov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Anstey seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Anstey takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Anstey is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Anstey misses with a low kick.
Savinov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anstey manages to avoid it.
A jab lands there for Anstey.
Savinov connects with the punch.
Savinov misses with a straight left.
Savinov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Savinov wants it to stay on the feet.

Anstey throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Savinov on the side of the head.

and Anstey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Savinov's guard.
Savinov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Anstey is now in half guard.

Savinov tries to get to full guard but Anstey has control of the leg.

Anstey working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Savinov is looking for a sweep. Anstey is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Anstey postures up and lands a big shot to Savinov's brow.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Savinov uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Alexev Savinov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Savinov lands with an uppercut that bounces Anstey off the cage and back into range.
Savinov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Savinov wants to control the pace but Anstey is squirming around nicely.

Alexev Savinov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
