Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wiremu West (ranked 3583 p4p, 1856 weight class) and Caleb Jones (ranked 313 p4p, 168 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Caleb Jones enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wiremu West! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Caleb Jones! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West forces Jones back against the cage and clinches. West gets a trip takedown into half guard. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. West passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. West wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Jones stops West from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Jones sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. West wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. West is looking to stall here but Jones recovers full guard. Jones has his foot on West's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. West works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and West defends well. West stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. West is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and West defends well. West looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. West is looking to improve his position.
Jones is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and West reverses the position - he's now on top in Jones's guard. West got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, West has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted. West advances to half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones wants to control but West is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jones looking for submissions off his back. Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but West pulls his head out easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jones is keeping the position for now. Wiremu West overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. West postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of West, into his guard. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A close second round but Caleb Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round! Jones closes the distance but West moves to the side and West counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by West. Jones is trying to keep West in close.

West gets full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones is stalling in the full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! Wiremu West showed his dominance in that final round. Well West has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
