The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zakharov catches Tosanesti with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Chris Tosanesti has been cut.
Tosanesti tries a head kick but it misses.
Zakharov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A left and a right from Tosanesti both land. Nice combination.
Zakharov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tosanesti counters with a nice uppercut.
Zakharov throws a body shot but no joy.
Tosanesti connects with a leg kick.
Tosanesti tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zakharov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Zakharov throws a big counter combination but Tosanesti scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Tosanesti lands the left hand.
Zakharov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Zakharov misses with a leg kick
and Tosanesti counters with a single leg into guard. Zakharov didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tosanesti throws a strike but Zakharov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Zakharov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Tosanesti shoots in for a double leg but Zakharov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tosanesti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zakharov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Leonid Zakharov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zakharov lands a really nice looking cross but Tosanesti seems unphased.
Tosanesti walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Tosanesti is rocked!
Zakharov lands a nice hook to Tosanesti's body. Tosanesti takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Zakharov connects with a body shot.

Zakharov drops Tosanesti with a straight right hand, right on the button! Zakharov follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Leonid Zakharov thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Chris Tosanesti spoke after the fight, saying 'No worries, guys. The Athletic Commission has just announced my opponent failed his pre-fight drug tests, so the result of this fight will be overturned and declared a No Contest. Big thanks to those of us who continue to fight clean!'.
