PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Berto Kin (ranked 19130 p4p, 2294 weight class) and Gaizka Elizondo (ranked 654 p4p, 306 weight class). Elizondo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Peewee Longway & Money Man - Ooowwweee kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 41 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Berto Kin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gaizka Elizondo!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Elizondo there.
Elizondo with a nice calf kick.
Kin throws a nice looking combination but Elizondo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kin scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Elizondo to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Elizondo looks to land a left hand but Kin moved out of range nicely.
Kin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Kin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A punch combination from Kin misses.
Elizondo thumps Kin with a low kick.
Kin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A solid body kick from Elizondo.
Kin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Some wild striking there from Kin.
Elizondo lands an overhand right.
Kin throws a right and a left that Elizondo avoids nicely.
Elizondo connects with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elizondo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Elizondo connects with a leg kick.
Elizondo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A head kick from Kin lands but Elizondo takes it in his stride.
Kin misses with a two punch combination.
Elizondo chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Elizondo connects with a body shot.
Kin needs to keep his hands up - Elizondo had a free shot at his head there.
Kin misses with a few strikes there.

Elizondo looks low and kicks high, catching Kin right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!

Kin is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Elizondo lands a nice hook to Kin's body. Kin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oh Kin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kin seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elizondo feints and then cracks Kin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kin down.
Kin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Elizondo slips a jab and a cross from Kin.
Elizondo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Elizondo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kin is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Elizondo lands a head shot.
Kin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Elizondo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Elizondo misses with a kick to the body.
Kin on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kin moves forwards but Elizondo connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Some wild striking there from Kin.
Elizondo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gaizka Elizondo dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Elizondo connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Kin's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Kin - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Gaizka Elizondo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
