Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darcy Nixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alex Lee!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nixon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lee darts in looking for a takedown but Nixon gets double underhooks and turns Lee into the cage.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt.
Nixon scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lee in his tracks.
Nixon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nixon tries to improve position but can't.
Lee has control of an arm but Nixon manages to advance to Lee's back!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee trying to control the hands but Nixon won't let him.
Nixon has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Lee's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nixon continues to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nixon is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lee has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nixon controls the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nixon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nixon looking for the choke from the back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Darcy Nixon dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nixon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lee's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Nixon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lee can do to turn this around?
Lee tries to clinch but Nixon moves out of range.
Lee fails with the takedown.
Lee dives in and grabs Nixon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nixon pushes down on Lee's head and hops out.
Nixon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lee's head backwards.
Nixon jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lee is rocked!
Alex Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nixon lands with a right hand.
Lee is still on wobbly legs! Can Nixon finish him?
Lee tries to get into range but Nixon steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Lee! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Nixon scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Darcy Nixon!
A relieved looking Darcy Nixon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
