Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Wetton (ranked 2835 p4p, 3768 weight class) and Chris McCocker (ranked 333 p4p, 407 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Wetton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris McCocker!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from McCocker misses the target.

McCocker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McCocker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wetton is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Wetton is trying to control McCocker's posture but McCocker avoids it.
McCocker passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wetton!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCocker seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Wetton is holding on tight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCocker moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wetton has worked his arm free - good work by Wetton!

McCocker wants to free his trapped foot but Wetton is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McCocker seems to be looking for submissions.

McCocker is looking for a kimura but Wetton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McCocker to get the leverage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McCocker tries to pass to full mount but Wetton defends it.

McCocker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wetton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McCocker has Wetton in his guard.


McCocker is looking for a triangle here but Wetton uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

McCocker is looking for a sweep.
McCocker trying to remain calm as Wetton controls from the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wetton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's time! Wetton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wetton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCocker paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A little jabbing left from McCocker on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
McCocker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As McCocker tries to get set, Wetton tries to push him back and clinch up but McCocker manages to avoid the attempt.
Wetton has a takedown stuffed.
McCocker has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCocker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wetton sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wetton blocks a jab.

McCocker throws a jab but it's blocked by Wetton.
McCocker throws a shot from downtown. Wetton moves away and avoids it.

McCocker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wetton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wetton got a little sloppy there for a moment and McCocker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wetton has managed to get both his arms back between McCocker's legs - danger averted.

McCocker is controlling an arm, preventing Wetton from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Wetton wants to control the pace but McCocker is squirming around nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCocker can do anything to dispel that myth.
McCocker tries to hold on but Wetton pushes him away.

Wetton takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCocker is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Wetton has taken his back.

Wetton has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of McCocker's body.
