PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy McGee (ranked 4261 p4p, 4288 weight class) and Punch Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bag has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy McGee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Punch Bag! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGee keeps Bag at a distance using the push kick. Bag chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McGee can pounce on him.
Bag swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McGee counters by moving into the clinch. McGee tries to work over Bag's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. McGee tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bag's elbow. McGee swings wildly with an uppercut but Bag uses good head movement to avoid it. Bag is trying to stall.
McGee misses with the head strike.
McGee throws a punch but it's blocked by Bag. A head punch on the inside from McGee fails to land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bag wants to get back to striking at distance but McGee won't allow it.
Bag turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bag manages to end up in side control. Bag is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down McGee's shoulder. That is not cool. Bag landing strikes. Bag is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. McGee is trying to escape and Bag transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and McGee is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bag! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Punch Bag! An out of breath Punch Bag thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
