Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Law (ranked 1741 p4p, 1017 weight class) and Keith Rodgers (ranked 209 p4p, 134 weight class). Law comes to the cage accompanied by Country Boy Can Survive. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tyson Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keith Rodgers !
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers leaves Law with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rodgers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Law manages to avoid it.
Rodgers throws a hook to the side of Law's head but Law sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Law fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rodgers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Law looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rodgers changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law blocks a jab.
Rodgers lands with a shot to the body.

Law shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rodgers as he jumps to the side.
Rodgers drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Law defends it well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Law. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Law shoots in and bounces Rodgers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rodgers wants to sweep here but Law controlling him for the moment.

Law drops back looking for a leg! Rodgers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodgers manages to kick Law off! Law jumps back into Rodgers 's guard.
Law has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rodgers pulls Law in close to prevent any damage.
Law has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodgers is adopting a defensive guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Law accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Law is looking to pass into half guard but Rodgers pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rodgers is in guard.

Law looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rodgers controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rodgers working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Law looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Rodgers has picked Law up and slammed him! Law can't keep hold of the triangle and Rodgers manages to pass to side control!
Law takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Rodgers wants to stand but Law has his arm trapped.
Rodgers cracks Law with a big elbow.
Law tries to bench press Rodgers off him but Rodgers keeps the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rodgers takes a little break here. Law wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Rodgers scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Law to see if he's OK.
Law gets back to half guard.
Rodgers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Law does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Law manages to get to full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Law fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rodgers avoids it really well and circles away.
And Rodgers tries to counter it with a takedown but Law pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Law looks for a takedown but Rodgers sprawls well.
Rodgers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Law.

Nice uppercut lands for Rodgers . That snapped Law's head back.
Law tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rodgers swivels and escapes.

Rodgers feints and then cracks Law's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Law down.

Good work by Law as he checks the leg kick.
Tyson Law is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Law takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Law.

Law with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rodgers to score with a decent uppercut.
Keith Rodgers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Law takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Law throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodgers 's waist but Rodgers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Law off to one side.

Rodgers lands a nice hook to Law's body. Law takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rodgers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rodgers is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Law rather than just go for the knockout.

Law bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Law wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rodgers , who protects the arm well.
Rodgers is working to avoid the ground and pound but Law connects with a decent elbow.
Law is looking to take a break and control but Rodgers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Law is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rodgers has escaped the position, nice work there.

Tyson Law overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rodgers is trying to control Law's posture but Law avoids it.

Keith Rodgers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Law takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Law shoots for a double leg takedown but Rodgers sprawls well. He's pushed Law's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rodgers does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Law's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rodgers connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Law scrambles back to his feet.

Law tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rodgers defends well and Law ends up having to push Rodgers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Rodgers darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Rodgers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A lazy left from Rodgers finds it's target.
Rodgers swings for the body but Law moves out of range.
Law was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rodgers scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Law doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rodgers counters with a single leg into guard. Law didn't expect that.
Law can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rodgers controls the pace.
Tyson Law has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rodgers 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Law can't keep his opponent in guard - Rodgers advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodgers is controlling the pace.
Law wants to get back to full guard.

Keith Rodgers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rodgers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Keith Rodgers tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
