PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mister Blizt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Kolbauer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mister Blizt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Kolbauer!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blizt shoots in for a takedown but Kolbauer shows good takedown defense.

Kolbauer drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Blizt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Blizt is looking for a kimura but Kolbauer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Blizt to get the leverage.

Blizt is working for a submission of some sort.
Kolbauer is trying to get back to full guard.
Kolbauer wants to get back to his feet.

Blizt is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kolbauer keeping hold of Blizt's head, controlling as best he can.
Kolbauer is looking to improve his position.
Blizt trying to pass the guard but Kolbauer defending well.
Blizt lands strikes from half guard.

Blizt seems to be working for a kimura but Kolbauer defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Blizt is looking to advance position but Kolbauer won't allow it.
Kolbauer flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kolbauer is looking to control Blizt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kolbauer avoid being mounted?
Kolbauer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Blizt counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Blizt wants a takedown but no success here.

Blizt jumps into guard, dragging Kolbauer to the mat.

Blizt looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kolbauer passes into side control.
Kolbauer lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Blizt down.
Kolbauer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blizt keeps working.
Blizt tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kolbauer presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Kolbauer has control of Blizt's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Blizt regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kolbauer manages to capitalize on a mistake by Blizt to take his back!
Blizt tries to escape the position.
Will Kolbauer go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Blizt is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kolbauer gets his way!
Blizt is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Blizt can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Kolbauer dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kolbauer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blizt as he jumps to the side.
Blizt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kolbauer tries to keep at a distance but Blizt has taken the fight into the clinch.

Blizt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Blizt.
Kolbauer is working to avoid the ground and pound but Blizt connects with a decent elbow.

It looks like Jason Kolbauer has been cut.
Kolbauer has control of an arm but Blizt manages to advance to Blizt's back!
I really don't envy Kolbauer right now.
Blizt scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Blizt is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kolbauer defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Kolbauer rolls, trying to escape but Blizt keeps control of the position.

Blizt is punishing Kolbauer with strikes - can he finish him?!

Blizt lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Blizt.


Kolbauer is rocked!


The cut above Jason Kolbauer's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Blizt is working for a rear naked choke. Kolbauer is not defending it well and Blizt has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kolbauer refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kolbauer's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mister Blizt!
