PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higanti Libat (ranked 24326 p4p, 24678 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Nada is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Libat's half guard.
Nada not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Nada looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Nada prevents Libat from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Libat wants to control but Nada is keeping busy.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Libat dives in for a single leg takedown but Nada sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Libat has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nada avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Nada is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Libat can't fight it off and eventually Nada manages to take the fight to the floor. Libat looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Nada not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Libat controlling the position.

Nada missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Nada seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Let's hope that Nada has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Nada shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Way Nada dominated that round.
That's time! Libat's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Nada fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Libat avoids it really well and circles away.
Libat quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Nada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Libat shoots in for a takedown but Nada shows good takedown defense.
Nada thinks about the counter body kick.
Nada slaps away a takedown attempt from Libat, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Higanti Libat. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Libat darts in looking for a takedown but Nada gets double underhooks and turns Libat into the cage.
Nada is trying to counter with his kicks.
Nada is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nada is trying to drag Libat to the mat but Libat just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Libat stops a takedown attempt from Nada.

Nada has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Libat clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Way Nada has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nada just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Libat just trying to survive but Nada is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Nada throwing wild punches that miss their target.
Libat trying to control the position but Nada manages to sink in the hooks.
Nada throwing strikes and Libat squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.
Libat wants to control but Nada is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nada looking to control but Libat is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Libat is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Nada tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Way Nada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Nada closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Nada seems content to control.
Libat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nada controlling the action here.

Nada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Libat pinned against the cage. Libat gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nada changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Libat looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Higanti Libat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nada has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
