This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 41 wins and 14 losses; John Lee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 41 wins and 20 losses; Marcinho Sitsongrit! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Sitsongrit clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the cage. Sitsongrit is defending well against a takedown attempt. Lee wants a takedown.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sitsongrit gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sitsongrit is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lee is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Sitsongrit to the mat. Sitsongrit regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sitsongrit has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lee is working away from the top position though. Sitsongrit felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Sitsongrit is pressing down on Lee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sitsongrit tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sitsongrit is trying to control the position but Lee postures up. Lee advances to half guard. Sitsongrit is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sitsongrit sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Sitsongrit trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Sitsongrit is looking to reverse the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Lee takes the fight on points by 16 to 0. John Lee retains his bantamweight title! A very excited looking John Lee made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet.
