PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Fry (ranked 2975 p4p, 3432 weight class) and Pilot Test (ranked 406 p4p, 460 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Fry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pilot Test!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fry's corner calls for a 1-2. Fry obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Fry definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Test shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fry as he jumps to the side.
Test looks for a takedown but Fry sprawls well.
Test ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Test moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Test shoots in for a takedown but Fry shows good takedown defense.
Al Fry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pilot Test.

Test moves into the clinch successfully.

Test has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fry regains guard immediately.
Fry wants to stand up but Test is controlling him.
Fry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Test on the ground.
Test passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Test is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fry knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

We've been informed that Test has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Fry connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Test's hands.

Pilot Test seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Test shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fry as he jumps to the side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Test is defended easily by Fry.
Test is breathing heavily.
Test changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fry tries to avoid it but Test manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fry to the ground. Fry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Test takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Test walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Test tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Fry, as that shot connected.
Test has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Test there as he acknowledges the shot.
Fry throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Test stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Test shoots in but Fry avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd cheers as Fry lands an impressive looking overhand right. Test doesn't seem phased though.
Test drops his hands momentarily and Fry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Fry is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Fry cracks Test with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Test takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Test throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fry's waist but Fry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Test off to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Test fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fry avoids it really well and circles away.
Test takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Test with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Fry to score with a decent uppercut.
