Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Dias (ranked 734 p4p, 1987 weight class) and Rustam Kadurov (ranked 104 p4p, 274 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rustam Kadurov!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kadurov digs a good hook to Dias's body.
Kadurov works over Dias's head and body with a nice combination.
Kadurov misses with a looping right.
Kadurov connects with the punch.
Kadurov throws a hook but Dias avoids it easily.
Dias ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Dias is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kadurov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dias goes for a double leg but Kadurov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kadurov continues to drive forward.

Kadurov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kadurov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

You can see the frustration on Dias's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dias is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Kadurov felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dias fails with a takedown attempt.
Kadurov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Kadurov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dias tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kadurov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dias somewhat.
Dias bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kadurov looks up at the clock and then as Dias takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kadurov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Dias stops Kadurov from passing to mount.
Kadurov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Dias on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Kadurov tries for a kimura but Dias is defending well.
Dias sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Kadurov wants to take a breather but Dias is having none of it.
Kadurov slips a nice elbow through Dias's hands, connecting with Dias's forehead.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kadurov in particular looking to stall.
Kadurov lands with a punch from half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rustam Kadurov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dias fails to land the takedown.
Kadurov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dias.
Dias darts in looking for a takedown but Kadurov gets double underhooks and turns Dias into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vinny Dias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dias is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kadurov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dias to the mat. Dias regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Dias escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kadurov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kadurov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dias's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
