PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Mullen (ranked 4120 p4p, 5423 weight class) and Tiago Tomate (ranked 434 p4p, 486 weight class). Tomate is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by “Danger! High Voltage”, by Electric Six. Tiago Tomate told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mullen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tomate gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Mullen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tomate is defending well.

Tomate comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Tomate lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Oh Mullen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tomate creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Mullen with a big uppercut! Mullen tries to clinch up but Tomate pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Mullen to the mat! Mullen covers up and Tomate unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
