Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sirus Hughes (ranked 2815 p4p, 3712 weight class) and Chester Drawers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughes comes to the cage accompanied by Devil "Shinedown". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sirus Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Drawers! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drawers slips a straight right by Hughes. Hughes clinches with his opponent.
Drawers drags the fight down to the ground.
Drawers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Drawers has control of Hughes's left arm, preventing Hughes from doing any damage. Drawers keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Hughes postures up in Drawers's guard and throws a big left but Drawers blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes won't allow Drawers to sweep him here. Hughes working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hughes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hughes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drawers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hughes, pushing him back against the cage. Hughes misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Drawers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Hughes is looking to clinch but Drawers is avoiding it.
Sirus Hughes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hughes throws a nice looking combination but Drawers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Drawers is looking for the big counter here. Hughes misses with a body kick. Hughes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hughes misses with a double jab.
Hughes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hughes throws a body kick that misses. Drawers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hughes pinned against the cage. Hughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hughes tries to clinch there but Drawers circles away.
Hughes misses with a shot to the body and Drawers counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Drawers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hughes tries a body shot but Drawers blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch but Drawers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Drawers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Drawers fails to land with a series of punches.
Drawers closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Drawers slips under a jab. Drawers is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hughes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Drawers moves away. Drawers lands a jab to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Drawers closes the distance and clinches. Drawers lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hughes goes for a takedown attempt but Drawers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Drawers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hughes's waist but Hughes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drawers off to one side. A head kick by Hughes misses and Drawers counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Drawers is trying to control the action in half guard but Hughes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Drawers is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hughes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Drawers. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughes wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drawers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hughes is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Drawers pulls his head out easily. Hughes looks like he's trying to stand up.
Drawers is trying to control. Hughes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Drawers is taking a breather. Hughes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Drawers stops Hughes from getting back to his feet.
Drawers stands up from half guard. Drawers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hughes. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chester Drawers will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hughes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Drawers to score an easy takedown into full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Drawers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hughes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Drawers defends it easily. Hughes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Drawers is aware though and is defending well. Drawers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Drawers trying to control but Hughes is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drawers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drawers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Drawers stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hughes gets a clinch. Drawers has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hughes uses from the top position. Drawers trying to keep a closed guard but Hughes is proving a slippery customer.
Hughes wanted to stand there but Drawers had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughes throwing strikes but missing. Drawers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hughes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Drawers is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drawers keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hughes wants to get up but he can't break Drawers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sirus Hughes is winning the standup battle so far. Drawers ducks under a wild hook from Hughes. Drawers changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Hughes with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hughes is looking to wear down Drawers with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Hughes throws a big shot that misses. Drawers throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes tries to clinch but Drawers is having none of it. Hughes leaves Drawers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hughes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Drawers's head backwards. Hughes throws a good cross that connects.

Hughes throws a hook but Drawers avoids it easily. Sirus Hughes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drawers clinches up against the cage. Hughes tries to pull guard but Drawers forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Hughes tries to land knees in the clinch but Drawers avoids the damage to the body. Drawers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hughes misses with a wild body shot. Hughes tries to clinch but Drawers is having none of it. Hughes wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drawers drives through with a takedown into guard. Drawers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. This has been an exciting period of action! Hughes has his foot on Drawers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drawers works his way back into a safe position though. Hughes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Drawers trying to control the position from guard on top but Hughes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Drawers stands up and waves to Hughes to follow him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Drawers connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Chester Drawers will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Drawers takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Drawers blocks a head kick by Hughes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Drawers feints the counter takedown. Drawers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Drawers avoids the body shot from Hughes.

Drawers goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hughes prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hughes won't allow Drawers to get back to his feet. Hughes stands up over Drawers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hughes postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sirus Hughes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hughes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drawers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Drawers gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hughes. Hughes takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hughes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drawers paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hughes throws a body punch but Drawers moves out of range. Hughes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drawers was well out of range. Poor timing from Hughes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hughes gets off balance looking for a body kick and Drawers counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hughes! Drawers decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hughes to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Drawers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes just misses with a punch to the body.

Hughes tries to sprawl but Drawers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Hughes pushes Drawers off and gets back to his feet. Hughes has Drawers up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Drawers is trying to break the clinch but Hughes is controlling him. Drawers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hughes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Drawers looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Hughes throws a head kick that misses. Hughes tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Drawers tries to counter with a clinch but Hughes shakes him off and moves away. Drawers looks for a takedown but Hughes sprawls well. Sirus Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chester Drawers. Hughes bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drawers closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hughes trying to land knees to the body.
Drawers misses with an elbow over the top. Drawers connects with a nasty looking knee right to Hughes's face.
Hughes blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Drawers is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hughes to keep the fight standing. A shot in the inside from Hughes. Hughes is looking to take this one to the mat. Hughes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Drawers.

Chester Drawers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Hughes tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Drawers avoids it. Hughes is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hughes trying to land knees to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Sirus Hughes showed his dominance in that final round. I think Drawers has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
