Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Childers (ranked 4419 p4p, 4404 weight class) and Pontimonious Symphony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pontimonious Symphony was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrew Childers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pontimonious Symphony! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Childers has his takedown stuffed and Symphony cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pontimonious Symphony seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Symphony dives in and grabs Childers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Childers pushes down on Symphony's head and hops out. Horrible takedown attempt by Childers or perhaps it was just good defense by Symphony, which made it look bad. Symphony clinches. Childers avoids the elbow strike from Symphony, against the cage.
Symphony blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Childers tries to pull guard but Symphony forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Childers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Childers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Symphony walks away with a smile on his face. Childers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. No luck for Childers with that takedown attempt. Symphony drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Childers defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Childers throws a combination that misses and Symphony counters with a series of strikes. Childers will be more careful next time no doubt. Symphony tests Childers's chin there with a solid looking shot. Symphony looks for a takedown but Childers sprawls well. Symphony is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Symphony shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Childers wants to control but Symphony is keeping busy.
Symphony decides to return to a standing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Symphony tries a head kick but it misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Symphony is defended easily by Childers. Horrible takedown attempt by Childers or perhaps it was just good defense by Symphony, which made it look bad. A countering left hand to the body from Symphony misses. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Childers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Symphony's half guard. Symphony manages to escape and get back to his feet! Childers takes a body punch but keeps moving. Childers is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Symphony shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Childers defends it nicely. Symphony gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Childers tries to pull guard but Symphony won't allow it.
Symphony has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Childers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Symphony is trying to break free. Symphony is trying to pull guard but Childers turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Symphony breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Symphony looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. An attempted straight right counter from Childers misses the target. Symphony shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Childers but Childers pushes him off and we're back to square one. Childers tries to work over Symphony's front leg with a kick but Symphony checks it. Symphony throws a head kick but Childers moves out of range.
Childers looks to land a combination but Symphony avoids it well. Symphony thows a leg kick but Childers checks it and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Symphony goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Symphony shoots in looking for a takedown but Childers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Symphony's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pontimonious Symphony dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Symphony fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Childers to the ground. Symphony is now in Childers's guard. Childers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Childers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Symphony's guard. Childers throws a big elbow that misses. Childers throwing strikes but missing. Childers throws a big right hand that misses. Childers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Symphony managing to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Childers is looking to work some ground and pound but Symphony has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Childers trying to control but Symphony is working from the bottom. Childers throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Childers throwing strikes but missing. Symphony is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Childers trying to control the position from guard on top but Symphony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Childers looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Symphony closes the distance and clinches.

Childers changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Symphony fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Symphony has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Symphony looks for the body kick but Childers saw that one coming. Symphony shoots in and drives through. Childers sprawls well. Symphony shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Childers pinned against the cage. Childers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Symphony fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Andrew Childers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pontimonious Symphony.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Symphony shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Symphony was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pontimonious Symphony has got the better of the ground game so far. Symphony is breathing heavily. Symphony in side control, just content to control the action for now. Childers is trying to get back to half guard. Childers sneaks back into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Childers looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Childers is looking to control Symphony's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Childers avoid being mounted? Childers wants to improve his position but Symphony is controlling well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Symphony seems to be looking for submissions.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Andrew Childers will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Childers shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Symphony but Symphony pushes him off and we're back to square one. Childers stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Childers wants it to stay on the feet. Andrew Childers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Symphony misses with a takedown attempt and Childers counters with a big head kick but Symphony shrugs it off. Symphony closes the distance and clinches. Childers tries to break the clinch but Symphony is controlling the position. Childers breaks from the clinch.

Childers jumps into guard, dragging Symphony to the mat.
Childers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Symphony trying to control but Childers is working from the bottom. Symphony stands and steps away. Childers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Childers tries to clinch up but Symphony circles away and keeps his distance. Symphony avoids the head kick by Childers.
Childers gets the takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A bit of a lull in the action here. Symphony tries to bench press Childers off him but Childers keeps the position. Childers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Childers tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Childers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Symphony keeps working. Childers tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Childers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The strikes coming from Childers are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Childers trying to control the action but Symphony is working from the bottom. Symphony tries to bench press Childers off him but Childers keeps the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Childers is looking to take a break and control but Symphony is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Symphony can't do much from the bottom here. Symphony manages to get back to half guard. Childers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Symphony's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Symphony preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Symphony gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
