The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Bullard.
Bullard lands with a cross.
Thomson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bullard connects with a right hand. Thomson shakes it off.
Buzz Bullard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bullard misses with a hook to the body
and Thomson counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Thomson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bullard.
Bullard tests Thomson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bullard scores with a hook.
Thomson clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bullard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomson walks away with a smile on his face. Bullard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bullard fails with an attempt to clinch.
Thomson is looking to counter punch.
Bullard's corner calls for a 1-2. Bullard obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bullard moves away from the strike by Thomson.
Bullard is looking for the big counter here.
Thomson with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomson feints and as Bullard raises his hands in defense, Thomson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thomson drops back looking for a leg! Bullard is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bullard manages to kick Thomson off! Thomson jumps back into Bullard's guard.
Bullard is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thomson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bullard's body to avoid the submission. Bullard has instead reached around Thomson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bullard arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
