Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Yuudai (ranked 5893 p4p, 4857 weight class) and Dustin Fahey (ranked 0 p4p, 455 weight class). Takeshi Yuudai has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takeshi Yuudai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dustin Fahey!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fahey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yuudai's head backwards.
Fahey is looking to clinch but Yuudai is avoiding it.
Fahey chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Fahey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yuudai as he jumps to the side.
Yuudai appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Fahey moves in looking to clinch but Yuudai pushes him off.

Yuudai gets caught napping as Fahey dives in and scores a takedown. Yuudai manages to retain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yuudai has control of Fahey's left arm, preventing Fahey from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fahey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fahey or perhaps it was just good defense by Yuudai, which made it look bad.
As Fahey backs away, Yuudai returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Yuudai stuffs the takedown attempt from Fahey. Fahey gets slowly back to his feet.
Fahey shoots in but no luck this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fahey throws a right hand that Yuudai ducks under and follows up with a left that Yuudai also avoids with ease.
No luck for Fahey with that takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fahey misses with a knee to the head.
Yuudai tries to land knees in the clinch but Fahey avoids the damage to the body.
Fahey has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Yuudai after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Yuudai counters with a thumping low kick.
Fahey shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

And Yuudai counters with a quick kick to the body but Fahey blocks it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fahey shoots in and drives through. Yuudai sprawls well.

Yuudai slaps away a takedown attempt from Fahey, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yuudai fires out a quick counter leg kick but Fahey just manages to avoid it.

Yuudai has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Fahey closes the distance and clinches up with Yuudai, looking for a takedown. Fahey pushes Yuudai against the cage but Yuudai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Yuudai jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Yuudai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yuudai wants it to stay on the feet.

Yuudai blocks a head kick by Fahey.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yuudai is trying to control the position but Fahey postures up.
Yuudai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yuudai tries to get out of the position.
Yuudai is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Fahey landing some decent shots from guard.

Fahey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yuudai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fahey has managed to get both his arms back between Yuudai's legs - danger averted.
Yuudai is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Yuudai wants to take a breather but Fahey is having none of it.

Yuudai looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fahey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Yuudai content to control rather than advance.

Fahey is looking to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Takeshi Yuudai showed his dominance in that final round.
