Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lukas Ravena (ranked 4315 p4p, 4512 weight class) and Scott Shredder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shredder takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shredder shoots in looking for a takedown. Ravena tries to sprawl out of it but Shredder keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ravena manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ravena could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shredder is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ravena wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shredder keeps working.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ravena wants to control but Shredder is keeping him busy.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shredder can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ravena gets to his feet - Shredder follows without any prompting.

Shredder throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ravena tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shredder is in Ravena's guard.
Shredder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ravena swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shredder drops back looking for a leg! Ravena is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ravena manages to kick Shredder off! Shredder jumps back into Ravena's guard.

Ravena manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Shredder keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Shredder's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Ravena decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Ravena feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ravena is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Shredder lets go of the hold and Ravena can pop his arm back in it's socket.
