PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Higanti Libat (ranked 24340 p4p, 24691 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Higanti Libat could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Way Nada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Higanti Libat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Libat misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nada thinks about the counter body kick.
Nada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Libat tries to avoid it but Nada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Libat to the ground. Libat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Libat goes for a double leg but Nada avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nada continues to drive forward.
Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Libat can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Higanti Libat. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Libat has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nada regains guard immediately.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Nada controlling the position.

Nada is pulling down on Libat's head. It's preventing any offense from Libat, at least for the moment.
Libat slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Libat being controlled here momentarily.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Libat fails to land the takedown.
Nada tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Nada manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Libat on his heels. He'll look to pass Libat's guard now, I'm sure.
Libat wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nada manages to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Libat is doing well to control the position and prevent Nada from advancing to side control.
Libat trying to control but Nada postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada trying to control the pace.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Way Nada will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

A nice side step and Nada releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Nada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Libat tries to counter with a takedown but Nada is quick to defend against it.
Nada tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Libat defends well and Nada ends up having to push Libat into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Higanti Libat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.
Nice sprawl there from Libat as Nada shoots in.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Libat enables Nada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Libat manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Nada throws a big right hand that misses.
Nada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Libat is controlling Nada's posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada preventing the sweep.
Nada working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nada shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Libat defends it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nice takedown defense from Nada. No joy for Libat on that attempt.
Nada with the counter takedown but Libat avoids it easily.

Libat looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nada!
Nada is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Way Nada will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Libat's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Nada shoots for a takedown but Libat saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Libat.

Nada shoots in and gets a takedown into Libat's guard.

Nada working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Nada is fighting to break Libat's control of his arms but Libat is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Nada content to stall in guard here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Libat is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nada has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Libat scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Nada has one foot on Libat's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Libat but Libat pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nada fails with a takedown attempt.
Higanti Libat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Higanti Libat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada.

Nada bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nada winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
