Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Alvarez (ranked 2820 p4p, 4605 weight class) and Herschel Pettaway Jr (ranked 336 p4p, 453 weight class). Ricky Alvarez had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Alvarez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pettaway Jr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Alvarez has the Thai plumb, controlling the head nicely. He loads up with a big knee to the head and Pettaway Jr goes down! Alvarez pounces into side control - this one could be over soon!

Alvarez cracks Pettaway Jr with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Alvarez immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Pettaway Jr is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Alvarez!
