Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Harinck (ranked 857 p4p, 1052 weight class) and Kotaro Asakura (ranked 55 p4p, 65 weight class). Tommy Harinck had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Harinck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kotaro Asakura!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Harinck. Asakura does a little dance to reset his feet.
Asakura lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Harinck connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Harinck is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Asakura.
Asakura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Harinck closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Asakura did well to prevent Harinck getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harinck is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Asakura has managed to free his arm - good work.
Harinck is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Asakura is looking to control Harinck's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Asakura avoid being mounted?
Harinck is looking to advance position but Asakura won't allow it.

Harinck is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Asakura can do anything to dispel that myth.

Asakura tries to lock up and control but Harinck gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Harinck working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Asakura looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Harinck! Submission of the night perhaps?

In his post fight interview, Tommy Harinck started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
