PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slaw Spud (ranked 4347 p4p, 4615 weight class) and Scott Shredder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Slaw Spud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Shredder!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spud throws a nice looking combination but Shredder bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spud slaps away a takedown attempt from Shredder, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Spud leaves Shredder with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shredder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spud's waist but Spud gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shredder off to one side.
Slaw Spud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Shredder.
A combination from Spud does no damage.
Spud fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shredder on the side of the head.

It looks like Scott Shredder has been cut.

Shredder is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Spud's half guard.

Spud is defending against the submission attempts here by Shredder.
Shredder tries to pass to full mount but Spud defends it.

Shredder is working for a kimura but Spud is defending it quite comfortably.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spud looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shredder looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shredder has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Spud defend it? Shredder steps over the head and cranks it - Spud is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Shredder!
