Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Gable!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Khabib Nurmagomedov!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gable goes for a double leg but Nurmagomedov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nurmagomedov continues to drive forward.
Nurmagomedov tries to break free but Gable pushes him back against the cage.
Gable has been working on his balance at Blacksmith MMA Gym πΊπ², so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Nurmagomedov.
Gable tries to work over Nurmagomedov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nurmagomedov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gable shoots in for a takedown but Nurmagomedov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nurmagomedov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Gable. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gable drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gable is looking to work some ground and pound but Nurmagomedov has wrist control.
Gable throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Gable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nurmagomedov works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Nurmagomedov wants to sweep here but Gable controlling him for the moment.
Nurmagomedov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gable rolls with it to try and escape but Nurmagomedov cranks on the arm and Gable is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
