The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larusso tries for a takedown but Virtanen circles away easily
and Virtanen counters with a straight right hand.
Larusso shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Virtanen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Larusso misses with a two punch combination.
Virtanen connects with a nice looking jab.
Larusso shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Virtanen but Virtanen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Matias Virtanen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Larusso.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Virtanen counters with a nice right hand that sends Larusso toppling to the canvas! Larusso scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Virtanen finish him?!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Larusso leaves his chin hanging out and Virtanen seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Larusso crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

A relieved looking Matias Virtanen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
