Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Sawyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emelianenko Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Sawyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emelianenko Nogueira! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sawyer wants to clinch. No luck for Nogueira with that takedown attempt. Sawyer feints and as Nogueira raises his hands in defense, Sawyer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Nogueira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sawyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sawyer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sawyer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nogueira keeping moving, preventing Sawyer from controlling successfully. Nogueira is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sawyer is breathing heavily. Sawyer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sawyer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nogueira working for a triangle but Sawyer defends it easily.
Nogueira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sawyer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sawyer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Sawyer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sawyer wants to clinch. Nogueira shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sawyer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nogueira's guard now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sawyer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nogueira's head. Sawyer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nogueira is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nogueira looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nogueira has momentary wrist control but Sawyer slips an elbow through the middle. Sawyer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sawyer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nogueira looking for a guillotine here but Sawyer defends easily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nogueira misses with a takedown and Sawyer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sawyer. Tommy Sawyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emelianenko Nogueira.

Nogueira has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sawyer is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nogueira. Nogueira looks to move to half guard but instead Sawyer has passed into mount! Damn! Sawyer swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
