Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Peterson (ranked 3058 p4p, 1319 weight class) and Shahriyar Chai (ranked 357 p4p, 189 weight class). Shahriyar Chai is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Shahriyar Chai! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Peterson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. A jab from Chai misses. A combination from Chai does no damage. Chai misses with a body shot.
Peterson swings for the body but Chai moves out of range.
Peterson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Chai doesn't seem bothered though. Peterson throws a shot from downtown. Chai moves away and avoids it. Chai slips under a jab. Jab by Peterson. Peterson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chai's head backwards. Peterson moves into range and connects with a jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chai paws at him with a jab and circles away. Chai throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chai moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Peterson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chai.
Peterson sizes up Chai with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Peterson throws a looping overhand right but Chai ducks down to avoid it. Peterson has closed the distance and engaged Chai in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Chai scores with a nice short uppercut. Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Peterson.

and Chai counters with a right hand to the body. Chai scores with a nice head shot. Chai misses the jab. Peterson punishes Chai's body with a nice straight punch. Chai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Peterson.
Peterson connects with a right hand. Chai shakes it off. Chai connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Peterson looks to land a right hand but Chai moved out of range. A little jabbing left from Chai on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Chai walks into a straight right hand from Peterson. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peterson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Peterson staying out of range there. Peterson misses with a wild body shot. Peterson cracks Chai with a right hand to the side of the head. Peterson has closed the distance and engaged Chai in a clinch.

Peterson prevents a body shot from Chai. Peterson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Chai goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Chai presses Peterson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Chai struggles to land a body shot inside as Peterson controls his hands.
Peterson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Chai backwards. Peterson has a couple of punches blocked by Chai.
Peterson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Chai throws a punch but it's blocked by Peterson. Peterson lands with a right to the head. Peterson blocks an uppercut.
Peterson swings wildly with an uppercut but Chai uses good head movement to avoid it. Chai lands a hook that snaps the head of Peterson backwards. Chai doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Chai goes for a takedown attempt but Peterson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nick Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chai moves away from the strike by Peterson. Good shot there by Peterson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson swings for the body but Chai moves out of range.
Peterson tries to clinch up. We've been told by Peterson's head coaches at Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Peterson throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Chai to counter with a crisp jab. Peterson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Peterson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Peterson misses the shot to the body. Chai swats away the attempt to clinch by Peterson. Chai takes one to the side of the head.
Peterson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chai sees it coming and avoids it easily. Peterson misses with a right hand and Chai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Peterson ducks under a wild hook from Chai. Peterson with a jab. Chai showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Peterson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chai connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Peterson throws the left hand but Chai avoids the punch easily. Peterson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Chai has time to react. Peterson misses with a looping right. Peterson throws a hook to the side of Chai's head but Chai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Chai throws out a counter right but Peterson avoids it with no problem. Chai throws a jab but it's blocked by Peterson. Peterson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Peterson tests Chai's chin there with a solid looking shot. Peterson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Chai counters with a left and a right... And another left! Peterson is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shahriyar Chai! Our winner, Shahriyar Chai, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
