The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Valo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Davidson some visible discomfort.

It looks like Gerald Davidson has been cut.

Valo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Davidson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Valo but great work by Davidson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valo gets caught napping as Davidson dives in and scores a takedown. Valo manages to retain guard.

Valo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davidson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Valo pulls Davidson in close to his closed guard and prevents Davidson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Valo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Davidson has his hands clasped together but Valo extends and breaks Davidson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Valo.
