Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Laird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stanley Wagon!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Topper Green and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagon lands a lovely overhand right.
Laird takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Wagon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Laird moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wagon looks to land a combination but Laird avoids it well.
Laird half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Wagon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Laird's head backwards.
Wagon throws a one two combo.
Laird takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Laird closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wagon circles away.
Wagon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Laird shoots in for a double leg but Wagon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Wagon jabs Laird right on the nose. Laird blinks but takes it well.
Laird has his takedown stuffed
and Wagon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Laird. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laird with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wagon to score with a decent uppercut.
Wagon lands with an uppercut that bounces Laird off the cage and back into range.
Wagon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Laird misses with a takedown attempt - Wagon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wagon lands a nice leg kick that just misses Laird's sensitive parts.
Wagon takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Laird looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Wagon scores with a jab.
Laird takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Wagon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Laird is rocked!
Wagon lands a jab to the head.
Oh Laird is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wagon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Laird seems to have got his legs back now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Laird on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Wagon darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wagon lands the left hand.
Laird walks straight into a right hand from Wagon - that's dropped him! Wagon jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Laird from any more punishment! Laird complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Stanley Wagon!
Stanley Wagon seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
