PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Blackmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Blackmore looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blackmore shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Blackmore sprawling to the canvas. Smith follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Blackmore hang on?

It looks like Richard Blackmore has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Smith decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

I looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Smith throws a combination. Blackmore tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Smith stalks Blackmore and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Blackmore's face. Blackmore staggers backwards, shaken.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Smith. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Blackmore had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Smith is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Blackmore Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Smith's back instead.
