PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Akseli Pystyrupi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Okko Ukkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Akseli Pystyrupi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Akseli Pystyrupi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Okko Ukkonen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ukkonen throws a head kick that misses.
Horrible takedown by Pystyrupi or perhaps it was just good defense by Ukkonen which made him look bad.
Pystyrupi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pystyrupi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ukkonen as he jumps to the side.

Ukkonen closes the distance and clinches.

Ukkonen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pystyrupi can't fight it off and eventually Ukkonen manages to take the fight to the floor. Pystyrupi looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pystyrupi scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Pystyrupi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pystyrupi on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Ukkonen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ukkonen is looking to clinch.

Pystyrupi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ukkonen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pystyrupi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Pystyrupi has hold of Ukkonen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ukkonen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pystyrupi cranks the arm and Ukkonen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ukkonen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
