PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kai Faletau (ranked 3343 p4p, 3040 weight class) and Hakim Hamacha (ranked 345 p4p, 320 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faletau tries to clinch but Hamacha moves out of range.
Hamacha leaves Faletau with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Faletau shoots in looking for a takedown but Hamacha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Faletau's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kai Faletau will probably get the nod.

After the fight, Hakim Hamacha was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
