Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Souwer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souwer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by System Of A Down - Science. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Souwer! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva is looking to clinch. Souwer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Silva tries to clinch up. Silva tries to clinch there but Souwer circles away.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Souwer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Silva is looking to clinch. Souwer tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
Souwer circles away from the clinch attempt and Souwer counters with a nice leg kick. Silva showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Souwer.

Nice shot lands for Souwer. Souwer shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense. Souwer lands a front kick. Souwer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Silva unloads a knee to the mid-section. Souwer lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Souwer tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Souwer wants to get back to striking at distance but Silva won't allow it.
Silva with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Silva lands a knee to the head.
Souwer misses with a punch on the inside.
Souwer managing to block the knees to the body from Silva.
Souwer tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Souwer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Eric Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Souwer. Souwer tries to stall but Silva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Souwer is trying to break free. Silva tries to land a knee to the head but Souwer blocks with his arms.

Souwer pulls guard effortlessly. Souwer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Souwer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Souwer pushes a forearm under Silva's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Silva is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
