Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bishop (ranked 5388 p4p, 4197 weight class) and Chase Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bobby Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chase Wright!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Bishop closes the distance looking to clinch
and Wright connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A head kick by Bishop misses
and Wright counters with a left to the body.
Bishop is breathing heavily.
A solid body kick from Wright.
Wright cracks Bishop with an open hand slap.
Wright throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Wright looks to land a combination. Bishop sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wright connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bishop momentarily.
Wright connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Wright bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Wright throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bishop on the side of the head.
Bishop could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wright scores with a kick to the midsection.

A decent looking cross lands there for Wright.
Wright bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bishop's head backwards.

Wright clobbers Bishop with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Wright.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wright darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wright's corner calls for a 1-2. Wright obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wright ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Bishop takes one to the chin there.
Wright scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Wright has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Wright looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Wright is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bishop had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Bishop looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Bishop gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wright ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Wright connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bishop. Bishop circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wright fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bishop on the side of the head.
Wright scores with a hook.
Wright moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Wright dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Chase Wright dominated that round.
That's time! Bishop's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wright lands with a hook. Bishop tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

enabling Wright to counter with a crisp jab.

Bishop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wright counters with a good, hard body kick but Bishop shrugs it off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wright connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Wright lands a body shot.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Bishop might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Chase Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wright lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chase Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
