Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 24757 p4p, 24700 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 16 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buktot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Buut raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Buktot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buut as he avoids it easily. Buut fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Buktot quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Buktot shoots for a takedown but Buut saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Buut shapes to counter with a head kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dawindi Buktot. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut misses with a takedown attempt - Buktot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Buktot was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Buut tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buktot defends well and Buut ends up having to push Buktot into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Buktot shoots in looking for a takedown but Buut manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buktot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Buktot shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buut is trying to control but can't.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Buktot is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut wants to control but Buktot is keeping busy.
Buut keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Buut punching from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Buut shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Buktot is looking to counter with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Buktot tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Buut swivels and escapes. Buut steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Buut dives in for a single leg takedown but Buktot sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. It appears Buktot was looking to counter with a kick there. Buktot fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buktot bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dawindi Buktot dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Buktot shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Buut but Buut pushes him off and we're back to square one. Buut shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Buktot manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut wants to control from the top but Buktot keeps moving. Buktot has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Buut is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buktot wants to sweep but no luck. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Buut being controlled here momentarily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buut dives in and scores a takedown into Buktot's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut sitting in guard, not really doing much. Dawindi Buktot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Buut thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Buktot wants to sweep but no luck. Buut controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Buktot is looking to stand up but Buut isn't so interested in that idea. Buktot seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buktot is trying to keep Buut in close.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Buut throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Buktot's waist but Buktot gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buut off to one side. Buktot is looking for a counter combo. Buut fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Buut doesn't succeed with the takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Buktot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Buut. No joy for Buktot on that attempt. Buut replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Buktot blocks it well. Buktot closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Buut can't do much from the bottom here. A lull in the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buut tries to get back to half guard but can't. Buktot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Buut can do to turn this around? Buktot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Buut keeps working. Buktot controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Buktot throws a head kick that misses. Buut shapes to counter with a head kick. Buut changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Buktot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buut is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Buktot's shoulder. That is not cool. You can see the frustration on Buktot's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Buut controlling the position from side mount. Buktot tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dawindi Buktot. Well Buktot has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
