The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spud throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rees bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rees moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Spud swinging wildly here.
Rees wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Spud blocks a head kick by Rees.
Rees misses with a head kick.
Rees tries a head kick but it misses.
Spud throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rees stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Spud avoids the head kick by Rees.
Spud scores with a jab to the body.
Slaw Spud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rees lands with a slapping head kick.
That kick from Rees tenderised Spud's leg. Spud is trying to keep his angry face on.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spud checks a low kick from Rees.
Rees throws a head kick but Spud moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Spud. Those never looked like landing.
As Spud looks to move away, Rees throws a big counter combo but Spud just gets out of the way.

Spud drops Rees with a beautiful combination! Rees stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Spud is looking for the KO!

Spud feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rees sprawling to the canvas! Rees rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Spud finish him?!

Rees is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spud batters Rees with a massive right followed by a huge left! Rees is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Spud lands a final crushing right hand to drop Rees to the mat with a gruesome thud! Spud is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
