Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Potter (ranked 3822 p4p, 4286 weight class) and Derrick Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlie Potter could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Derrick Foster's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charlie Potter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Foster! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ron Honeybunn and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Foster on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Potter throws an off balance right hand
and Foster counters with a nice double leg into side control. Potter won't be happy with that. Potter throws Foster to one side and escapes! Foster drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Foster passes into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Foster not landing any meaningful shots this time. Foster is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Potter defends it well. Foster is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Potter!
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee warns Potter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Potter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Foster should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Foster misses with a head shot. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Foster cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Derrick Foster dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Potter throws an ugly left hook that misses
so Foster counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Foster controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Foster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Potter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Foster is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Foster missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Foster not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup. Foster has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Foster takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Foster gets a double leg takedown into Potter's guard. Foster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Potter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Potter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Foster controls the pace. Foster postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Derrick Foster has got the better of the ground game so far. Potter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Foster slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Let's hope that Foster has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Foster gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Foster dives in and grabs Potter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Potter pushes down on Foster's head and hops out.

Foster content just to control the position here. Foster working for a guillotine from mount but Potter is in no mood to give up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Foster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Potter tries to avoid it but Foster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Potter to the ground. Potter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Charlie Potter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Foster uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Potter. Foster shoots in for a double leg but Potter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Potter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Foster feints the counter takedown. Foster takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Potter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Foster gets the takedown into side control. Potter defending against the ground and pound. Foster taking a breather here. Foster cracks Potter with a big right hand but Potter just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

He's simply no match for Foster on the ground. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Foster. Potter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Foster controls the position. Foster throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Charlie Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Foster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. An elbow from Foster crashes against the mat.
Foster is staying tight to Potter's torso, preventing him from escaping. Foster moves into full mount! Foster working Potter over with strikes here. Foster looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Foster tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Foster is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Potter to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Potter shrugs it off.

Derrick Foster decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
