The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lankinen misses with a hook. Almunecar ducked under it nicely.
Almunecar moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Alcide Almunecar has been cut.
Lankinen walks forward, straight into a front kick from Almunecar.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Almunecar is looking to counter with head kicks.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lankinen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Lankinen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Lankinen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Almunecar is rocked!
Almunecar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lankinen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Oh Almunecar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Almunecar drops his hands momentarily and Lankinen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Almunecar seems to have got his legs back now.

and Almunecar counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Lankinen pounces like a tiger and cracks Almunecar with a vicious hook! Almunecar is down but not out! Lankinen follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
