Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dutra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to new pespective. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Reeves! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dutra moves into the clinch. Reeves decides to pull guard. Reeves should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Dutra wants to stand and escape but instead Reeves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Dutra working for a triangle but Reeves defends it easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dutra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reeves swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dutra closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Reeves is looking to regain half guard here but Dutra keeps moving and retains side control. Dutra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dutra tries to advance to mount but can't. That's two minutes gone in the round. Reeves is not content to let Dutra control the position. Reeves is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Reeves sneaks back into half guard. Dutra is looking to stall here but Reeves recovers full guard. Reeves had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dutra is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Reeves Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dutra's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dutra breaks Reeves's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dutra keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reeves's head. Reeves being controlled here, momentarily. Reeves has his foot on Dutra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dutra works his way back into a safe position though. Dutra trying to control but Reeves is working from the bottom. Dutra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dutra gets to his feet. Reeves looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Reeves keeps the fight on the outside. Reeves shoots and misses and Dutra counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Reeves! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reeves is trying desperately to improve position. Reeves tries to hold on but Dutra pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matheus Dutra will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown but Dutra shows good takedown defense. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Reeves gets a takedown into half guard. Reeves is looking to take a break and control but Dutra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dutra is looking to improve his position.
Reeves is working for a submission of some sort.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dutra wants to get back to full guard. Reeves is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dutra has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves wants to work for an arm triangle but Dutra is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dutra takes the fight into the clinch. Dutra tries to score a body lock takedown but Reeves shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Reeves is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dutra pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dutra tries to pull guard but Reeves holds him up against the cage and eventually Dutra drops back down to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matheus Dutra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dutra changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reeves fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reeves was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reeves is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dutra is surviving well by controlling Reeves's body position as best he can. Reeves is standing up, even though he is in mount. Dutra fails with the takedown and Reeves counters with a nice double leg into guard. Reeves preventing the sweep. Reeves stands and throws Dutra's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Reeves advances to mount. Dutra tries to buck Reeves off but he can't manage it. Dutra tries to hold on but Reeves postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dutra tries to get back to half guard but can't. Reeves with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Oh, that's unlucky for Reeves but great work by Dutra. Reeves can't do much from the bottom here. Dutra tries for a kimura but Reeves is defending well. Reeves manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dutra's best efforts. Reeves manages to get to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reeves has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Dutra doesn't defend quickly enough and Reeves has managed to lock this one up! Can Dutra escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Reeves on a fantastic submission victory.
