Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Arroyo (ranked 1825 p4p, 2355 weight class) and Necmettin Hoca (ranked 244 p4p, 296 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Arroyo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Necmettin Hoca!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arroyo works the jab nicely.
A jab from Hoca misses.
Hoca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arroyo moves away.
Arroyo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
It looks like Necmettin Hoca has been cut.

I was talking to Arroyo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hoca wants to get back to striking at distance but Arroyo won't allow it.

Hoca throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No joy there for Hoca, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
It looked like Arroyo was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hoca.
Arroyo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hoca takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Hoca fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arroyo manages to avoid it.

Arroyo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hoca backwards.
A short body shot lands from Arroyo as the two fighters clinch.
Arroyo pushes Hoca back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Arroyo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arroyo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Hoca gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Arroyo.
Hoca is still on wobbly legs! Can Arroyo finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hoca seems to have recovered his senses.
Arroyo works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Hoca tries to move into range but Arroyo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Arroyo cracks Hoca with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Arroyo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hoca to stand back up!

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Arroyo is stalking Hoca. Hoca circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Arroyo, and it's lights out! Hoca really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
